Mastopexy, or breast lift, is an outpatient surgical procedure done to lift and firm the breast using incisions around the areola, vertically down the lower portion of the breast and, often, horizontally along the fold.

Recovery from breast lift surgery is very patient-specific. We expect that normal activities will be resumed as quickly as each individual can tolerate it. Swelling may last up to 6 weeks after mastopexy surgery, and you should be prepared for your nipple and skin sensation to be altered temporarily. Rest assured, all of these issues and more will be discussed thoroughly during your initial consultation with the physician. It is best to follow your physician’s post-surgical care directions as closely as possible.
